High School Friendly U16/U18

New "High School Friendly" U16 and U18 program for the 2025-2026 season

The Howard Huskies will still field traditional travel teams at both the 16U and 18U levels. These teams will compete in the CBHL, EJEPL, and select travel tournaments throughout the season. Final declarations (AA to A) will be made shortly after rosters are finalized.

In addition to our traditional teams, we are proud to introduce a new Split Season “High School Friendly” option, designed specifically for players who wish to prioritize their high school hockey experience while still remaining active in competitive travel hockey.

This model was created in response to growing interest from families and players looking for a more balanced, flexible approach—one that allows athletes to enjoy the camaraderie and school spirit of high school hockey while continuing to develop their skills and compete at the travel level.

We’re excited to offer this additional pathway and believe it will serve the evolving needs of our hockey community.

first half of the16U /18U split season

Middle/End of August until Thanksgiving

2 half ice practices per week.
estimated 8 home games & 8 away games during this time (governed by the CBHL division # of games which may be 18-20 total games for the season)
entry in the local Silver Sticks tournament on Thanksgiving weekend

Second half of the 16U / 18U split season

December through February during prime HS season

1 half ice practice per week.
estimated 2 home games & 2 away games during this time
CBHL playoffs on the last weekend of February (if qualify)
State playoffs on the first weekend of March (if qualify)
